They never mention it in the game, so far as I know.
If anything, it's a fun little Biblical reference. His brother's name is Paul, right? Paul the Apostle, J.C. like Jesus Christ.

Certain NPCs are invulnerable at certain parts of the game. Sadly you can't murder Walton until a little later.
After all, if you killed him here who would you defect from? Page?
