  • Hello

Are you still using this camera?

    Any regrets regarding touch screen?

I like a wider lens and do not need a long zoom. I think a shorter zoom range is a sharper lens.

  • @TheBill2468 Bill, we just had an evaluation unit for a couple of weeks, so no, we are no longer using it. I agree about the wider lens. You might look at the Canon S100. We just tested it and it has a 24mm lens. GREAT camera.

  • Just bought this Camera, can any tell me if uploading 1080p vids from it onto Youtube will pose an issues or is it straight forward, thanks in advance

  • @Kordage Should not pose any issues.

  • ELPH 510 and the video is 5:10!

  • @MaxxWunderful Pretty cool, huh?

  • @CruiseReport

    thanks

  • @CruiseReport I guess my complaint is that the AUTO mode raises the ISO too much in low light and that produces too much grain. With manual you can lower the ISO and just use the flash so not too much grain.

  • @Kevmaninc I would tend to agree with everything except for #4. I found the Auto mode to be as good or better than most cameras in this category, for what it is. No doubt you can do better manually, but for a point-and-shoot, I was pretty impressed. I cannot speak to #6 since I did not test the older cameras. However, I might assume that they had CCD sensors instead of CMOS which generally do produce sharper photos.

  • @CruiseReport Sure. The reason why I don't like this camera

    1. The low light performance is not good

    2. The touch screen is not very responsive and tends to be troublesome

    3. Lack of manual features. (there are a 'lot of factors that you do not have control over)

    4. The auto mode is not that great I was able to get better shots by configuring settings in manual mode

    5. I hate the fact that there are no physical buttons and everything is on screen

    6. Older models had better pictures
