"Die-In" at White House: 13 Antiwar Protesters Arrested

On Tuesday morning, Jan. 26, 2010, a "die-in" protest was staged in front of the White House. The antiwar, anti-occupation event was primarily organized by the Minnesota Contingent of the Peaceable Assembly Campaign. At least thirteen protesters were arrested for refusing to obey a police order to get off the sidewalk. Here's another thought:

Recruit mentally-sharp retirement-community elderly to conduct huge demo like this one in front of White House,in which they specifically connect medical care cutbacks and lack of singlepayer option, to the bankrupting of our Treasury by this and other wars. "Save Lives Here". And draw direct connection between multi-millions spent every year by lobbyists to foster anti-life efforts (war, defunding food/medical /social programs),to prop up campaign spending/enrichment.

Very moving so if done by great masses of people, likely effective not only in "US-out", but also: single payer, other systemic reform actions. So, what do readers think:

1) @3Mile Island nuclear plant near-meltdown, in my college town we regularly gathered to learn Civil Disobedience principles. Should groups around the country widely hold/publicize such sessions?

2) What w/b drawbacks to holding up a contact phone number or website

(mentoring,joint action possibilities) at such actions?

i've been to the white house, i woman sat right infront with a picture of bush photoshoped as a terrorist and pictures of the iraq war and babies affected with depleted uranium, she was the only arab in the whole washington city i saw, but i saw many indian and pakistani muslims in washington .

Why n the heck are they arresting peacfull protesters ? Not just that but old people too. What the heck is wrong with what they where doing ?
