Youre Right about that. But once I abstracted from that, and put the music in focus I discovered one of the best metal bands around.
I really dont like the norwegian type of black metal, where the musicians look like 'ghouls' King put his makeup on and throws a good show. Thats it for me. I think´the music would have been less powerfull, if the topic had been God, or about cruisin' the streets in L.A, trying to pick up chicks. Have a great day Ironwolg.

the biggest problem i have with it is the satanic part. his voice is till don't realy like but i'd get used to it after a while. i just don't see why people have to sing about satan, like there aren't enough other subjects in the world

These days supporting other religious gods, seems to be just as insulting to mankind.
Try to forget the 'message' and focus on the music. I too had some problems for years with Kings vocals, but now I've gotten into it, and especially the hard driven guitarwork is FANTASTIC. Its no more, no less than watching a horror movie. Like Freddie Kruger goes metal. And remember that without King D ane Mercyful F, Metallica would have sounded differently. Sure the voice is weird/unique

the only song MetallicA ever did that i can say i hate and i'm sorry but king diamond's voice is weird. i'm still trying to figure out if he's singing seriously or trying to be funny. if he's trying to support satan he's doin a shitty job cause i would consider than an insult
