This is a movie of the relativistic Kelvin-Helmholtz instability problem in Beckwith (2011). In this problem the high density regions move to the right at 0.5c while the low density region moves left at 0.5c making for a relative Lorentz factor of 2.29. A small perturbation is made at the shear layer to set off the instability. This simulation is 512x1024 and goes out to t=10 with eps=0.1 and CFL=0.4. This was done using the relativistic MHD mode of WOMBAT at the University of Manitoba by Paul Edmon.
