Drug reps continue their chat
The voices in this segment have been distorted to protect the identity of the participants.
PharmedOut (http://www.pharmedout.org) is an independent project funded through the Attorney General Consumer and Prescriber Education grant program that educates physicians on how pharmaceutical companies influence prescribing.
scabbeus- If drug reps didn't make money for pharm companies, then the companies certainly wouldn't waste the money for their salaries. The way that they make money is by convincing doctors to prescribe their medication. For every "free" sample they provide, the patient or insurer has to buy that drug for (hopefully for the company) years. Studies show that visits by drug reps drastically increase the scripts a doc will write for the pills they are pushing. They are salesman, plain and simple.

This is ridiculous..why are they hiding? There are so many current or former reps that will talk on camera. Also, drug reps don't sell, they leave samples. This video has "0" credibility.

Excellent. What these guys don't seem to get is that there is nothing ethical about what they do.
