I thought I imagined that. I remember his face being green and not too different from Fenella out of Chorlton & The Wheelies. Scared the crap out of me. Haven't seen that image since it was on (I think 1981/82) but it still scares me when I think of it. All it needed was the Open University fanfare after it to make it a guaranteed nightmare.
@GibbletsMcGinty funny how everyone remembers this one. My memory was that after he took his mask off, his face was visible for a moment, the boy screamed and the credits came down..don't remember the plank balancing bit..but it was a long time ago
Jesus, the amount of programmes that were made to scare kids back in the 80s, who ran the tv networks back then, witches and goblins? lol. I've seen a few things that used to creep me out as a very young child on You Tube. Although repeats and not the original broadcasts.
@Whirlygig7 That was the 'Death Angel' The guy pulled his mask off in the dressing room after a fight and his face was all rotted away...anyone who saw it died. Which was bad news for the little black kid who saw him take off the mask and was later seen trying to balance on a blank between the roofs of two tall buildings
This was like the 70s series 'Shadows'. My favourite was the one about the drummer boy, when two crooks try to scare people away by disguising a kid as a ghost known to haunt a place. They put luminous paint on him, which almost kills him. It ends with them meeting the real ghost - a boy who died long ago from having luminous paint put on him when he pretended to be a ghost.
@Whirlygig7 That was Theatre Box I think not Dramarama

Blimey! I remember that dramarama theme. Haven't heard it for about 25 years though! Getting to the point where I thought I must have imagined it!
