The Lettermen sing I Believe with a full orchestral backing. We are all so used to hearing the beautiful Acapella version, that I bet a lot of people have forgotten this gem from the album You'll never walk alone.
I decided to use it as a tribute to our lovely granddaughter Abbie who has survived against all the odds. A premature baby, she's always been tiny, but had to have a life saving open heart surgery at just 6 months old. She has just celebrated her 4th birthday (which lasted about a week!!!) -a true triumph for all the staff at Liverpool's Alder Hey children's Hospital! For the thousandth time we thank you guys!!

  • Something told me to go to this version of this beautiful song and imagine my surprise finding my comment from a year ago. I thought I had it on the acapello version. Really happy Abbie now runs around like all the other little girls. I've had 2 more grandkids since last being in touch! 6 total !

  • Yeah thanks, Micky! Abbie still goes from strength to strength. Hope all your grandkids are healthy also!

  • Great comment, thanks so much!

  • It's time for Capitol to put out a comprehensive Lettermen anthology, IMO.

  • This was performed by the Decatur First Christian Youth Choir way back in 1974 & 75.

To all associated with that group. The memories are still vivid and the love just grows.

May God continue to bless you all, as knowing you has blessed me.

  • This is just so beautiful! It brought tears to my eyes, and I'm so happy for you and your family/friends that Abbie has survived! I sang this with my high-school choir a 'few' decades ago! I just sang along with this video. *THANKYOU!*

  • Good Stuff!!!

  • Outstanding.

  • This full orchestra version is on Readers Digest's 4-CD "Lettermen's Greatest Hits and Performances" series. Don't know if it's still available though.
