artificially raising apm in starcraft is equivalent to a post count in forums: it's a virtual dick, but doesn't tell you anything about quality.

Ok I have to ask the noob question, but what is the point of APM? You're clicking over and over on your main while you get your initial drones and I don't really get it. I understand APM is actions per minute and by doing this you increase that. But is there a difference to someone doing this as opposed to someone just waiting for the minerals?

Clicking on a base and the drones over and over doesn't make anything produce faster so I'm just trying to understand what the point of it is.
