@Hypatiarhetoric Of course this is also great, and I understand that Colm has a tendency to overdo things occasionally. I mean anyone who can even fucking hit the notes in this song and sound good gets my respect. Part of the reason I like Colm's version is that the music itself is less cheesy and 80s and more orchestral.

@HaraldJoe69 I couldn't disagree more. This is extremely well sung and authentic. I love Colm Wilkinson's voice and singing, but his version of this piece is embellished to the point of becoming irritating with swoops and other stylizing, in my opinion.

The way this guy says "weapons," you either love it or hate it-- and I LOVE it! He just goes all out here, and for that, he gets props! This is my favorite version. But really, anyone who can sing this song even half as well as this is exceptional. Great song. Great execution.

I still stand by adam pascals being the best. He's amazing. I actually don't like Colms version that much. But this version is very good as well. I just think adams is bette

I totally agree- pascal was good too but this one has so much Passion and it brings tears to my eyes!

But, Adam Pascal could sell it, as well....

Adam Pascal's version is very good. This one is too, though I must say I prefer the orchestrations in the original concept version with Murray Head.
One of the most powerful songs in the history of musicals.
