Here's a slideshow of me harvesting my 2008 hop crop in Lansing, Michigan.

I could only watch for 3 seconds. Obama sign's in the yard. Had to turn it off or I would have puked.
But the shoot going up the pole in that picture looks REALY full. Probably the only thing that stopped me from throwing up over the Obama signs.
I am a Michigan brewer/hop grower also. I am in Traverse City and the soil here is so nice for growing. My second years are doing well.

The great thing about homebrewing is that people from allllllllllllll types of backgrounds come together to share a common passion. Typically, politics, religion, and other divisive issues are left at the door.
Too bad you haven't realized this yet.
Thanks for the comments.

Hops typically take about 2 weeks to dry. Use screens and a fan to gently keep air flowing. DO NOT OVER-DRY; just until they get a bit crinkly.

Nice harvest. When my first year Cascades grow up, they want to look like your plants.
