Occupy Oakland experiences police brutality. Hundreds injured as police tear gas and shot rubber bullets at high speeds at protesters. They said they were clearing the area because "they were concerned about public safety" Among the wounded is Scott Olsen, a marine corps veteran. He is in critical condition with a fractured skull.
On September 17th, Occupy Wall Street began. Occupy Wall Street (OWS) began as a movement with the motto "we are the 99%" It is a movement against corporate and political corruption and greed. It was inspired by both the Arab Spring and the September Israeli protests against social injustice. The term occupation is used because each protest is designed to "occupy" a public space, whether it be a park, city hall, courtyard, or bank, for as long as necessary.

Look, this country is nowhere near the point of places like Libya and Syria and I doubt we're gonna start revolting any time soon. But with the nation deteriorating more each day, the statistical chance of one occurring is become more likely.
I'm personally optomistic, and think the US will get it together in the next decade, but if I'm wrong, I guarantee this nations cops will be the first to die.
