  • this was a good intro. So if I understood correctly, the drawbars are just a way to adjust tone on whatever percussion setting you're playing on? If you're playing on normal setting, are the drawbars still used to play with the tone of the sound?

  • when using percussion you set the drawbars to fill out the sound around the harmonic pop of the percussion. If percussion is off then the full effect of the drawbars for the upper manual is available.

  • Very nice playing and I love the close-up camera angle. But I wish I could see what your LH was doing!

  • I think you are one of the best organist around God Bless you.

  • okay... i think i need a music theory book now.

  • ok, i stand corrected.

  • they don't just work in 5ths at all. drawbars are modeled after the different lengthed pipes of a pipe organ. They correspond to 4ths, 3rds (major), 2nds, octaves, and so on with octave variations for some of the other harmonics, not only 5ths. The white are disonanf and the black are consonant I think. Brown for bass, though just 2.

  • leroyfj : drawbars are used to change tone, to add color. in any given situation you have a periphery to work within. paint ya canvas, drawbars change generally work in 5ths. get back to me, im high now. what a teacher, eh?

  • bflat second decay man

  • um where would i find the DVD that the other videos of yours say the clips are from?
