  • I find it amusing that Rosie says she doesn't know Judy's work. I'm 42 and I have known Judy's work since I was ten when my Mom and I went to a record shop and bought Carnegie Hall. Also some of Judy's best movies are in color:"Easter Parade", "Summer Stock","Harvey Girls", "I could go on Singing","In the goood old Summertime" etc. I adore Liza too...and I'm glad that she gives credit to her Mom and Dad! Ty for the post!!!

  • @damone77 I don't think she ever said she wasn't familiar with Judy's work. She just said as a kid growing up, it was Liza not Judy that she grew up with. Which is fair :)

  • Fantastic interview. But, I feel like Rosie is trivializing Judy's career simply because she grew up with Liza. I also didn't like how someone who calls herself an artist, like Rosie, doesn't see the value in classic black and white movies.

  • she wasn't trivializing Judy's career at all, she was just saying that for HER Liza is the one who she looks up to and grew up with.

And she said she didn't watch black and white movies when she was growing up, she wasn't speaking about now. She never said she didn't value them. You should listen again.

  • Rosie is a great interviewer--Liza really opens up to her like I've never heard her do. I've been following Liza since '72, and these are the best interviews I've heard/seen her do.

  • I agree with Rosie that one of the things that makes Liza such a gem is her ability to stay positive, no matter the tragedy. The glass is always half full for her....

  • After listening again, you're right. Sorry. I'm always very quick to defend classic film and Judy. I love Liza, but Judy will always have my heart!
