The killer must-have nymph. Use it on the bottom of the stream, or fish it across stream and let it rise up towards the surface. You can also twitch it with lifelike action in lakes. Try tying one with a bead head for extra flash and weight.

  • I have caught so many rainbow trout on this fly! Probably more than any other.

I add a good thick wrap of lead across the shank of the hook before applying the peacock herl.

Trout gobble it up as it rolls across the rocks in the fast water.

This is a show on PBS and it is the second guys job to add commentary. Nice choice of words.

  • that narrator is annoying as fuck. he should let the dude tie and shut the hell up

  • It is grate to see you guys I used to watch you on the pbs station would get up at 4 am sunday morning to watch learned a lot from you's

  • I love this fly.

I weight the hell out of it with wraps of lead under the peacock, and drag it along the river rocks.

I'm surprised by the blinding white wingcase in this video. I'd go for a more natural color. However, this may be an issue of video quality.

Come to think of it, I just might try fishing a few with bright white tops. It sure catches the eye in this video!
