When Unity meets KDE (Kubuntu 11.10)

KDE made to look and act like unity

To make KDE look like this you must do:
1) get a panel on the top and on it add global menu (it is the last widget on the right in the widget list)
2) next to it add system tray and digital clock widgets (the rest are optional)
3) add a panel to the left
4) go to kde-look .org and get icon tasks
5) add it to the panel on the left
6) go to kde-look .org and get takeoff launcher
7) add it to the panel on the left
8) add pager on the bottom of the left panel
9) customize the rest the way you like

I am trying out Kubuntu instead of ubuntu because of unity. Why would I want to make KDE look like unity?

Da... Nu iti mai pune 12.04 !!! E alpha... lucrurile se strica tot timpul !!! Daca vrei un sistem stabil instaleaza 11.10.

Nu iti zic cu rautate, dar daca nu esti tester nu ai nici un motiv sa iti pui alpha sau beta. In cel mai fericit caz, daca nu mai ai rabdare pana la versiunea finala, poti baga un RC, dar mai devreme de asta in nici un caz sa nu te astepti sa mearga totul cum trebuie...

salut .am probleme cu compiz in ubuntu 12.04 .systemul meu este

pavilion dv6 -3183 -i7- 4gb ram 1gb ati card .

am instalat driverul ati de linux,am instalat in synoptic toate prg referitor la compiz .cand porneste ,imi apare doar o fata pe care o pot roti ,dar nu am icoanele nici unity

.ceva idei ????

@aurelcta 1) Ubuntu 12.04 este in stadiul alpha. Cu alte cuvinte nu este nici pe departe un sistem stabil. Daca vrei ubuntu, instaleaza 11.10 sau asteapta pana in aprilie cand apare versiunea finala de ubuntu 12.04. Unity nu mai lucreaza cu compiz asa cum o facea vechiul gnome 2. Desi sunt solutii, acestea pot afecta stabilitatea sistemului.

2) Pentru a integra kde in ubuntu, am facut un clip. il gasesti pe canalul meu (apasa click pe nick-ul meu).

3) Sunt din TL dar acum sunt la CT la facultate

It's pointless to bitch about someone's personal creativity. If someone doesn't like a certain desktop environment or OS, use and enjoy your favorite one. Don't act all sanctimonious like making KDE look a little like Unity is blasphemy. That's the fun of Linux, to do what you like. sudo apt-get autoremove bitching && sudo apt-get install fun-with-your-computer

well there's all the different kind of users out there. i shifted to ubuntu from kubuntu because of unity. this is obviously more for the people like me who've been on the kde side and missed unity on there.

I don't know why you would make KDE look like Unity, just use Unity.

But that the beauty of KDE, Unity, and Gnome and all of them you can make them look like any UI you what.
