@welshcourtland FAIL. They were from the 24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment,with a total of only 14 known Welshmen present at Rorke's Drift. The regiment wasn't renamed as the South Wales Borderers until the Cardwell Act of 1881. "...we being only a small band of English soldiers. My thought was to fight as an English soldier...for the benefit of old England". Private Robert Jones VC.

It wasnt an english regiment at Rorkes drift. Politically and legally "Wales" didn't exist as Wales was part of England at that time, and is still so. The work of Henry VIII
