CALL ME JOE, a five part web-series explores gay dating and HIV disclosure with irreverent humor and adult puppetry..

When and how to tell a date, or perspective sex partner you're positive is a nerve wracking, stomach-churning crisis every HIV+ person faces. Every email, every IM, casual encounter, or blind date has an overtone of dread. "Will they freak out?" "Will I get rejected?" "How can I tell a complete stranger my most private fact?"

CALL ME JOE follows Dave (David LeBarron) as he falls in love with his new boyfriend Joe and puts off telling him about his HIV status until it may be too late. Joe is played by Christopher Cirillo's derrière, voiced by Will Boddington. This slightly ridiculous pairing ends up pulling some heart strings and bringing up serious points: Who's responsible? When is disclosure appropriate? "There's no judgments or answers here. The point is to start the discourse and then have a lot of safe sex!" LeBarron winks, "which better when everyone knows the deal...If I say honesty is the only policy is that corny?"

Be One City, an online global positive community paving the way for HIV positive gay men to meet, chat and hookup, hired the irreverent and HIV positive writer/performer David LeBarron to tackle the problem of creating dialogue within the gay community about status disclosure through humor and compassion. "Disclosure is pretty much the crappiest part about being positive, I mean besides the other crappy parts," David laughs, "so I wanted to create a piece that would make people talk, or possibly reference as a segue into their own status."

"Joe is the everyman, the objectified goal, the physicalized problem and its redemption, and of course a really hot ass!" he sighs, "Having HIV is tough. Maybe with two googley eyes on an arse, talking about it gets a little easier. "

Be One City Inc. was begun by Peter Brook and David Purdue, to fill the void Mr. Brook found online when he became positive. The company targets HIV positive men on a local, national and global level. The company intends to expand its online services to provide a global HIV positive "sister" site within a year that will serve the heterosexual positive community.

David LeBarron is a performer and writer who's work ranges from feature films to scary little performance art pieces in the basements of Mexican restaurants. His one-man play "The Chronicles of Steve, the bossy bottom", is playing the NYC Fringe Fest this August.
