West Ham was the worst place to go in the seventies, followed by Millwall. Arsenal up to 1973, Tottenham 1975 onwards,Chelsea from 1976 were dodgy.

I was in the south bank where we kicked the Man U fans out. Some re-paid to get in the West Side to be followed by more Westham. For my sins I went down the steps from the terrace, on my own, 5 minutes before kick of where I encountered hundreds of Man U who preceded to give me a right kicking- watched by the Old bill who did nothing. I spent the next 3 days in Queen Marys Stratford with concussion. serves me right I suppose...but that was the beginning of the West Side Crew as far as I know...

The video shows the aftermath of the fighting
west ham are all along the back of the south bank man u at the front
Fighting started in a packed south bank an hour before kick off with west ham and man u alongside each other
Man U got run , get over it , as you say ,it was a long time ago
Manu also got run onto the pitch from the west side
3 hours before kick off about 8oo man u were gathered outside the north bank entrance in green street and a mob of the same amount w ham chased them to f gate

most/all the fighting occured before this video
about 30 mins before kick off Man u had been run on the pitch from both the south bank and the west side
Police made them get back onto the south bank terraces and tried to keep rival fans apart
Shortly after kick off a turnstile door was broken down and several hundred more joined an already overcrowded terrace, west ham steamed in again forcing everyone at the front to spill onto the pitch.

This was nothing to do with violence as such, just overcrowding because the recognised gate was about 5,000 less than it actually was; a common problem with the old style turnstiles and the blokes' on the gate organising their own little payday. Miss those days though - when you actually had an atmosphere in the ground. Oh - and smoggymichael? In your dreams, mate!

I was there
500 Manu got run out of the west side
onto the pitch
3 seperate large scale fights were going on at the same time in the south bank
West ham manouvered around the back of man u -they ran and the crush caused the pitch invasion
"Nothing to do with violence"?that made me roll up
