As a Sri Lankan organization in Los Angeles, the 'Sri Lankan Patriots' are helping the disabled soldiers and their families. - we have done many projects such as donating artificial legs, gel socks and constructing disabled accssible bathrooms- Since January 2008, we have been collecting funds to build a Community Center, complete with a computer center, library and gathering hall, for the Pangolla Ranaviru Village in Ibbagamuwa. There are 300 school aged children living in this village who will truly benefit from this Community Center.
Last August, we started construction work and the work is in progress. Nearly 3000 sq. ft. building is estimated to cost $40,000 and with all your help, we have so far collected $25,000.
We need $15, 000 to complete the project.
The Sri Lanka America Association of Southern California (SLAASC) commends and congratulates the Sri Lankan Patriots organization in California for the wonderful work they are doing in collecting funds and using these funds to build houses and facilities for the disabled soldiers in Sri Lanka.
