I think she just didn't know what to make of him at the time, or maybe she was just startled. By the way. she's three years old now, and absolutely LOVES Uncle Daniel. And by the way #2, Mommy DID pick her up immediately after the video ended, and within a few minutes, she was laughing in relief.

- She was moving to get the baby out of the chair as the video ended.

- If you pick a baby up immediately when they start crying they'll never learn to self-soothe & they will always bring on crocodile tears when they want attention. A baby does not always need to be picked up immediately if they are not in danger. If she picked her up immediately she would think that she was actually in danger, which she was not, so this is fine

@sheriwhispers The baby wasn't throwing a fit, if she had started crying when her Uncle was still leaning over her I'm sure they would have comforted her straight away, but she didn't. Like the mother said in a previous comment, after a minute she was fine and laughing. The baby obviously wasn't in any danger or under threat from the Uncle, nor was she scarred from the event. The mother was moving to comfort her at the end of the video, the pause between event and comfort was fine

@celeryg66 That's a rather violent reaction. Like I said in the previous reply, the mother was moving to comfort her as the video ended. And you know what, her timing was right. I didnt say she should be left to soothe herself, I said that the parents reaction shouldnt be immediate and rushed. Waiting a few seconds rather than jumping in is fine, which is what this mother did.
