Four residents from across North Belfast will visit the UN in Geneva, Switzerland next week to highlight the failure of government to realise the right to health, housing and play in some of the poorest communities in Northern Ireland.
Members of the Seven Towers Residents Group, the PIPS/Greater Shankill Bereaved Families Rights Group, the Girdwood Residents Jury and the Lower Shankill Residents Voice will be in Geneva to attend the examination of the UK government by the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
They will be reporting on their time in Geneva on their blog, North Belfast Goes to the UN at http://nbelfast.blogspot.com/.
The north Belfast residents are attending the examination with the Participation and Practice of Rights (PPR) Project who supports all the groups in using international human rights standards and tools to campaign for local change in housing, health, play and regeneration.
