Excerpt from the NAACP Image Award nominated film Dare Not Walk Alone illustrates power of music in protest. Mr. J.T. Johnson of the SCLC describes attempts to swim in the ocean on segregated Florida beaches as part of the non-violent protests of 1964 that led to signing of the first civil rights act.

  • Whistleblower75 - Freedom is always worth fighting for, even dying for. It does not matter if it means the freedom to vote, go to the beach, walk down the street, buy a house, have an education, get a job, get married, etc.

  • Was the intergration really worth going through???

  • I feel ya my brother. Who the hell wants to go to a beach with a bunch of meth-addicted, inbred crackers. Seriously, you should let yer first cousin give you head at a 'whites only" beach.

  • who wants to go to a beach with a bunch of niggers on it? cant even take a swim without chicken bones and watermelon rinds washing up all over your family.go to the beach with black sand you coons white sand beaches are for white people!!
