  • If this is real...I want to ask you if you have ever been on SSRIs or Benzodiazepines. These drugs can cause myclonic s

    pasms.

  • I had a lot of tests done, an overnight EEG eliminated the brain as the cause of my spasms. An MRI showed a herniated disc in my neck. During surgery, they found that it had been pushing my spinal cord. The spasms stopped post-surgery. I can trigger them in a minor way now by moving my head quickly. When the spasms were bad (as in the video) it was like being punched in the solar plexus. Three or four of those and I was done in. More questions or conversation? post again. TTFN

  • i had tiny spasms in my legs, arms, head, and my speech would sometimes slur and i wud stutter, i had eeg's Mri's and they put it down to a myoclonus, ive recently started taking epelim, do you know if there is a severity level of myoclonus seizures, or do they always start small and gradualy become worse?

    thanks

  • I don't know about it progressing. Mine lessened when I had great pain. An overnight EEG was the first time I noticed that.

My understanding of myoclonus is that it is unpredictable. I don't think anyone would have diagnosed a cause without the pain caused by the pinched nerve. Another MRI was ordered then. That showed the herniation.

It seemed really hit and miss on what to do next. After all of the tests are run and nothing is found, you may as well go to a Voodoo Lady.

  • dude,

Was that a Myoclonus muscle spasm?

  • Yes, that is what they called it. I had them for 6 months without anyone figuring out what caused them. I needed surgery on my neck due to a pinched nerve shutting down my right arm and the spasms went away. The doctors can't say they thought that would happen but the surgeon takes credit since there are no other explanations. Hope this helps you in some way.

  • I wouldn't classify that as myoclonus. Myoclonus is generally small, short jerking. Usually doesn't cause full body bending nor causes voice fits. Yours looks more severe and would fall in to another category. Is it brought on my walking or are there other ways you can have it happen?

  • Dude I'm sorry if this is real.. But FU if this is fake.. sorry.

  • Thanks for the reply. Myclonic seizures are tough to treat. Many times they seem to rectify themselves on their own. I hope you find relief soon.

    Be well...
