It Also Allows the School Officials to target the students that they wish to "Weed Out" so that they can eliminate them for a better "Grade" on their Testing. This is where they get their "Funding". This is common practice in schools and they will continue this practice. They will make it so miserable on the child and the parent that they will want to pull the child from the school. This is all For the DOLLAR...

Being a junior in a public highschool, i can remember specific examples of how zero tolerance is bullshit. My school has a lot of active gang members, and their is pretty much fights everyday. They don't give a fuck if they get suspended or have to talk to the principle. bringing pack actual punishment such as the humiliating method of the paddle would help. Simply talking to them won't matter because they'll just keep on gettin in fights anyway. Great video anyway

@DocTacDad Oh yea, I know..
I'm not too far out of the public school system myself, and it holds a special place in the darkest part of my mind. "Zero tolerance", as it stands, not only doesn't work for its stated purpose, but works all-too-well for its real purpose: Molding children into automatic obedience machines. It becomes very difficult to distrust and challenge authority as a kid in school.
I was in between following the ridiculous rules and being one of the "bad guys". There's no middle ground, no choice.
