Jeff comes back to Dark Corners, SC to help me construct a log stairway in my rustic cabin.
Using a guide jig we made using pipe clamps and 2x4 scraps, we use the circular saw on edge to cut 6" mortise slots in the young Black Locust logs. Then I scribe tenon lines on the Tulip Poplar half-log treads. After cutting, they are pounded in.
Waving goodbye to Jeff, the wind picks up, Spunky runs for the house and a cool equinox rain sets in.

  • Great stairs, I hope to build some similar.

  • nice work :)

  • Nice work. I really like the simplicity. That's what I want in my little cabin in Central Idaho. I also like the after-shots around the property. You obviously know what cabin living is all about and you appreciate nature. It's beautiful there. Good for you.
