Newport Tennessee. Written about my hometown of' Newport Tennessee the' gateway to the' Appalachian and' Great Smoky Mountains. Exit 435 on I40 in beautiful east Tennessee the' scenic route to Gatlingurg. Visit Newport and see' ROCKY TOP' THUNDER ROAD. Camping and' horseback riding' fishing in the twin rivers and' catch a rainbow trout in a mountain stream. Walk the' Appalachian Trail and' Gatlinburg is onely 30 minutes away. Visit Christy in Del Rio (CHRISTY the MOVIE). See beautiful walters lake. See a real moonshine still at Shiners best Western Inn..Kayak or' canoe the Pigeon or' French Broad river. Song written & peformed by the' smoky mountain songbird from' Newport Tennessee Larry Joe Cashen from the' Jesse James album..

Been wondering what happened to you....You done a real good job....How you been doing? That was good pic of your family....I remember some of those places too....Yep I'm the youngest of Doby & Rhea's....Glad to see your still singing...

Remember the Burger Chef, I worked at the Burger Chef when I was a sophmore. Until the McDonalds opened up in Morristown and they offered me more money to work there. This was a great video. Brought back a lot of memories. I miss Newport. Four Wheelin and cat fishin in rankin bottoms. Cruisin from Wal Mart to McDonalds and back again. Oh well, I only hope my kids can grow up somewhere were they can enjoy that atmosphere.

yes remember the Burger Chef...and sneakin in the races on sat night and all night movies at the Newport Drive Inn after the race laying on the ground next to the speakers..back in the good old days.
