  • I was 12 when this show first aired, and I enjoyed this show very much. Van Dyke and Lange worked very well together, and the rest of the cast was excellent as well. Indeed, I've had a crush on Fannie Flagg ever since:) --

  • Wow, I remember this show from when I was a kid, but I don't recall any of the episodes. I DO remember him singing "Jeepers Creepers", however. Did he do it on more than one occasion?

  • the only TV station in Phoenix with roman numerals is KTXV(Television Roman numeral 15) KXIV is Roman numeral for 14.

  • the ending is pure dick van dyke. he gets upped for his hesitancy.

there's nothing wrong with preaching on prime time. it raises the medium above being mere filler between advertising. the secret of course is to do it in a manner where it's not edith getting raped again, but showing that ediths get raped, even if its at the expense of showing corporate america as good at heart and ignoring the fact that this is an idealization of an evil situation at best (racism at the bbc exists till today)..

  • Dick Van Dyke Show new or old was never funny.

  • Although a very different script, watching this reminded me of the episode from the first series where Rob and Laura accidentally dye their hands black just before Rob has to accept an award from an organization promoting better race relations. :)

  • Yeah, when he went into "Jeepers Creepers", I cracked up. A classic Johnny Mercer tune. His facial expressions were priceless. I hate when sitcoms go "all in the family" and get political. Every episode has to be about an old lady being molested or something. Oh, Edith got raped again, and Gloria has PMS. Here come the KKK, not funny to me. At least Archie tells them they are dumb. By God, for a stupid republican he was mostly correct. He'd a sized up Obama very well. "Those were the days."

  • It was a daring subject to deal with and not too preachy at the same time.

  • Go Larry!!!
