Billie Holiday was moved by this voice when she heard it the first time.

Cante puro.

Tientos o tangos, that's the question...
I'm just typing what the label of this 78 says. I can't argue with that myself.

Priceless recording, merci! The style of toque (guitar playing) would indicate Manolo de Badajoz rather than Nino Ricardo.

The mystery continues...

Labels from old 78:s are indeed not very reliable. L.N.D.L.P. collaborated mainly with four guitarists: Melchor de Marchena, Manolo de Badajoz, Niño Ricardo and Ramón Montoya. The best way, by far, of knowing who is playing is in the recording itself. In this case jou hear clearly in the introducing falseta L.N.D.L.P saying: Manolo! , in this way encouraging (and presenting) the guitarist . In 9 out of 10 recordings with la Niña you can conclude the guitarrists identity in this way.

I think you're right! I do hear her saying "Manolo". Do you have any idea when this was recorded?

Thats actually Manolo de Badajoz on Guitar. Wonderful guitarist, too.

The label of this record says it's Nino Ricardo who plays the guitar on this recording. Were they wrong at Columbia?
