Hey Matthew, you want kids films that are dark but are targeted to kids? They're called the films made by Don Bluth before Rock-A-Doodle. Also, was Charlie Sheen in All Dogs Go to Heaven? I don't know.

Seriously this guy needs to grow some balls. What films can children watch? Care Bears?
If we overprotect children, they'll just find out how cruel life is the hard way. This movie shows that a loving family that work together can overcome all odds. If there were no dark moments there'd be no tension thus we would care whether the characters lived or died. It's a basic story telling technique.

I like how unbiased you were for this one, but in my opinion The Incredibles is a family film. If it was a children's film then the plot would be light and no one would die. But the creators intentions were to make a movie with action that they knew children would pass over as an action movie with higher meanings adults would get. True, that some parts were really a little too dark for children, but they made those parts so adults would enjoy it. Some things that are too happy adults won't love.
