Pat Buchanan on Palin's Claim Sputnik Cost Led USSR to Collapse: 'Tough to Come Back From & Explain'

(1/27/11) Pat Buchanan takes a pass at trying to explain/spin Sarah Palin's "WTF" reaction to Obama's State of the Union Speech, and her idea that debt incurred from putting Sputnik into space "resulted in the inevitable collapse of the Soviet Union."

Palin: "He [Obama] needs to remember that what happened back then with the former communist USSR and their victory in that race to space, yeah, they won, but they also incurred so much debt at the time that it resulted in the inevitable collapse of the Soviet Union."

@THEINVENTABLETHREAT I extrapolated the numbers from the poll that said 30% of the US pop approved of supported Palin. 30% of the US population (+/- statistical error_ gives you somewhere in the neighbourhood of 90-97 million. As a Canadian we typically fare better economically when there is a Republican in the White house, but frankly.....Sarah Palin scares the shit out of me. PS...glad to hear you don't take Fox seriously...most people who watch it appear to believe EVERYTHING they see.
