Mark Freeman 408 Tests the AR Drone for future aerial ATV vid shots at the track

Mark is testing the iPhone4 / iPad controlled AR Drone for future use filming aerial ATV shots at the track. It has both front & downward facing colour cameras ... real time video is viewed on the iPhone4 / iPad.

the ar drone is fun, but nothing else than a toy... if you wanna shot some aerial footage you should buy a quattro, hexa or octocopter... works very good with gopro

@twoaxis .... thanks for the tip .. will look into that ... it's true, the AR Drone's camera quality is just "OK", but not great.

or at least attach the gopro to the drone... because an octocopter is not that cheap...

@twoaxis ... we tried attaching the GoPro to the drone, but it throws the drone out of balance ... it won't fly properly ... am reading about the better copters you suggested ... we'll cut our teeth on the AR Drone & possibly in the future we'll move into the big leagues with better equipment.

having tried to attach der gopro very low right in the center of gravity? maybe you can use a metal pipe or a wooden stick or something like that... 2 weeks ago, we tested the gopro on trex450, the footage is stunning, very sharp, nice contrast, despite all the vibration of a heli

try it with out the foam protection is much easier to control it and the wind dont bother at all
