Known for her comprehensive study of her own stroke, Jill Bolte Taylor discusses how we need to look beyond the detail at the big picture, and use the right side of the brain.

One in a series of interviews carried out for 21:21 The Movie - released in the fall of 2010.

Presented by Learning Activist Patrick Newell, 21:21 exposes the failures of traditional schooling techniques in preparing our children for life in the 21st century, and then demonstrates the effectiveness of progressive teaching and learning methods, as applied in a number of classrooms all around the world.

The film also features a number of exclusive interviews with leading thinkers of our time - of which this is an extract.

  • I believe she said she taught or teaches at Harvard, is on staff and not a student.

  • She never got a degree from Harvard but got two degrees from Indiana University and she never mentions it though. It's almost as if she wanted to erase from her mind that she didn't get her B.S. or Phd at an Ivy League School
