Armwrestling Lost a True Giant today...Cleve Dean

I just found out that Cleve Dean has passed away. Armwrestling truly has lost one of the sports true Giants in every way. He was a Giant Man with a Giant Heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family today.

I lived in the town where Cleve had his mobile home business and had the opportunity of fixing his computer(s) once or twice. He was a great guy.

I know that he was in a lot of pain and barely mobile the last time I saw him, which was several years back. He will be missed, and I'm glad that his pain is finally over for him. RIP my friend.

rip ... The faces he made when winning and his sheer size helped make the end of the movie over the top classic .. such a small role but i remember him as well as i remember " john grizzly"

He beat some big names in his day.Someone of his massive bone structure , for someone 6'7", he not only had long bones but thick bones as well compared to other people in his height range.He was already naturally strong,but if had gotten into some explosive speed type Olympic lifting at home just for overall head-to-toe strength improvement, he would've been way better than he already was.A 6'7" 350 lb. Dean but "muscular" instead of fat would've been breaking a lot of opponents wrists and arms

Was he referring to Travis Bagent near the end? That when he said he was disappointed at how present champions behave and one in particular has god given talent and knows how to use even his mouth but is giving armwrestling a negative image and that Cleve wishes to turn it back?

Actually I think Andre the Giant and Richard "Jaws" Kiel have Cleve beat in the hand sized department! LOL! Otherwise, I enjoyed watching Cleve over the years. I was sad to hear that he is gone. Rest in Peace, Cleve.
