@0633767jerishowrulez Just go ahead. It should, I think. But you have to explain your symptoms to the gastroenterologists who is going to do the gastroscopy for you so in case the it does not show up on the cam, clips can be put on your stomach so the hernia will more visible. Good luck!
I am actually considering an operation to fix my hernia. In case you find out have paraesophageal hiatal hernia, you should consider surgery because it is a lot worse than mine.

@rssndrsn I actually got the barium swallow and it found nothing. The doctor is still clueless on why I am having the pain I am having . I honestly beleive I have a rolling hiatal hernia that is starting to get strangulated. no heart burn, which is accociated with sliding hiatal hernias. Now my question is this, will an endoscopy be able to see a rolling hiatal hernia. you can look up pictures of rolling hiatal hernias and it does seem like an endoscopy would be able to see it.

@0633767jerishowrulez It would be best if you have an upper endoscopy instead. The hiatal hernia does not show most of the time during barium x-ray, like what happened to me. The doctors taught It was just hyper-acidity or IBS or anxiety. But they were all wrong until I had gastroscopy. It showed that I have sliding hiatal hernia. After all the severe pain attacks that I had for three months, I am very thankful that I finally got the right diagnosis. Good luck.

An endoscopy is just when the camera is put down through your throat, to see if there is a hernia there. Sometimes they will also clip a small piece of tissue and send it for testing. That's the most accepted way to diagnose and hernia, and don't worry there is no major cutting. Best wishes, hope I helped. I've had two endoscopies and it's relatively harmless.

I have one too, since I was born. I do all of what langdonet said, but during really bad episodes it helps to elevate your bed, at the head end.

That's how I got the damn thing!

I too have a "small" hiatus hernia but oh have I had some horrid symptoms. Im male only 31.
my best advice is not to eat late in the evening and allow about 3 hours before going to sleep. I also take an antacid before going to sleep or a swig of gaviscon. That holds me off. Good luck with this

well, God cannot do much because hernia does not get well on its own, you have to be very careful with your diet, eat often and little, avoid fried and fat food.
