Requires that you form alliances with all the remaining MAJOR races. You can
achieve a Diplomatic Victory by allying with only one race (or as many races
as you want) and then destroying the remaining civilizations either through
military force or cultural conquest.

Much like the conquest victory, the diplomatic victory is most profoundly
affected by the number of other major civilizations. Again, it is easier to
ally with two civilizations than eight.

  • There is a really atrocious, game ruining glitch Galactic Civ II sports in which makes it impossible to ever select the "form alliance" option from the diplomacy screen. The option never gets placed under the treaties tab, even when both parties have the alliance technology and have friendly relations. I've reinstalled the game, I've tried patches and everything. It's thoroughly impossible for me to form alliances in this game, which makes it crap in my view.

  • @AllahConsciousness

strange i didn't had that problem ..at least from what i remember

  • Or as thalans.Yeah, thalans have a negative Diplo, you can make up for it by putting points into Diplo, but try WITHOUT it hahah...

  • Try this victory while playing the Drengin.Sure hard,is it not?

  • Friendly won't allow an alliance, you have to be "close" with them.

  • And they all became BFFs forever. THE END

  • @DarkTemplar40k yeah i tried that, diddnt work out... oh and i just noticed a typo.. meant to say troubles, not trouples

  • @DarkWolfe117

That's why despise the fact most people say that Starbases are useless I build some. With Starbase backup even small fighters can defend a whole planet and fight back the enemy thus giving you the time to build reinforcements.

  • @DarkTemplar40k i know right? i had the strongest fleets in this one game, and my 3 allies turned around and back-stabbed me RIGHT before we engaged the enemy, murdered most of my men (i won agaisnt them in THAT battle) but then the enemy we were about to attack came out and pwned the rest of my forces.. i ended up with two colonies left and just retired from the game... not worth the trouples

  • Creating an alliance isn't peaceful, and it can't give you any victory... Just because you have a friend doesn't meen they do whatever you say... unless ofcourse you have supreme purswasion skills, and that's how you made everyone be your friend in the first place.
