I was in a philosophical mood, talking to a friend on the phone, and turned on the camera.

If we erase our memories, do we erase ourselves? What if there are traumatic memories we don't know about? How do you define what is traumatic? What defines the self- are we the sum of our decisions, how others perceive us to be, or who we perceive ourselves to be?

As usual, I'm totally clueless...

  • That makes so much sense. I wonder if victimization is related to other addictions... or, conversely, if those without addictive tendencies (like the types who can pick up a cigarette once) are less likely to perceive certain events as victimizing them? Or is it more like obsessive compulsive disorder?

  • great video!!! i think you are the sum of your memories until they are released back into the universe to be recycled. we are just a body and within our life we run into other events that cling to us and create memories and experiences including traumas. But i feel that we all feel the same in the sense of us being humans and have the same biological make up. kind of a same play different setting so i agree with you saying trauma is subjective there is no definite.

  • You can change the subjective perception of a memory by revising the context of facts involved. The truth is that 'victimization' can become a strong neurological addiction, the cells in the body crave the release of a specific neuro-peptide and the mind creates are reality which allows the person to dwell on that particular emotion. When you erase the memory you don't erase the addiction, the mind will simply obsess itself with some other problem that produces the same type of emotion.
