Another 8 point white tail taken in Central Texas. This deer also weighed in at 109 pounds like the last video. Either they weighed the same or my scale is broke. I shot it with my DPMS 6.8 Upper on my Essential Arms lower.

We never made it to the blind since the opportunity ran out in front of us while heading to the blind for the evening hunt. My family is going to eat good this year!

The rifle used is a DPMS 16inch M4 upper in 6.8 SPC with a Yankee hill free float tube and Essential Arms lower. I used a Rock River Arms 2-stage trigger with JP Enterprise reduced trigger and hammer springs. The scope is a BSA Catseye 3-10x40. The ammo was handloaded with a 100grain Remington SP with 29.4grains of Hodgdon H322 powder.

  • I'm a Texas man myself! I gotta say, you are a good dad teaching your son to hunt! I wish my dad had taught me! Awesome deer and super nice gun!

  • @Jerrel72 Thanks! Be sure and subscribe or at least check out my hunting channel TEXASNATIVE00. I've got most of my hunting related videos posted there and should have another up on Monday. I just got back from hunting with my cousin and he got a great buck. Can't wait to share it!

  • You've got a really great family hunting video there buddy!!! We've got it all here in Texas don't we?

  • @ni4ni07 Yes, we do! Be sure and check out my hunting channel TEXASNATIVE00

  • What range did you take it at? I'm reading that the 6.8 is good from 200 or 300 yards.

  • @Rhapsody564 I think that shot was probably about 50-60 yards. The longest I have taken a deer with the 6.8 is probably 110 yards. My rifle shooting ability gets kinda iffy after 100 yards or so, so I usually pass on the longer shots to avoid wounding the deer. I am confident I can hit something out to 500 yards but I will just be hitting it some where and probably not a clean kill.

  • cant wait to bring my son out hunting with me..

  • great buck man

  • This is a really good video, nothing like father and son hunting deer. I go out with my father in England, and its really nice to spend time with him.

Hunting this way is a good way to make a lifelong bond.
