for HIV, it's freaking awesome. although, virus' as a whole are in a weird spot since they arent technically alive.

@IvanderHaisley nature doesn't discriminate between groups of related individuals. (species) if some get the chance to survive, then good for them. if another learns to avoid being eaten, that's also good. even if other "groups" of life forms die. they just weren't fast enough.
so it's possible, though improbable, to have a lethal virus evolve against us. but we're likely to evolve at a proportional speed and escape the threat.
it's a never-ending contest of reproduction. that's life.
