Klangstabil - Reason To Live

A music video we shot on various Super 8 stocks in New York City in 2007 (with the exception of some shots, which are from an earlier visit in 2000) for German Industrial Music project "Klangstabil". It was directed by Dominik Kuhn ( aka dodokay ) and is part two of his "Super 8 Trilogy", the first of which being Collage's "Hunter" (see other videos).

I actually think the whole thing was meant to be an hommage of some kind. The shots of the subway station at West 72nd / Broadway with Gray's Papaya in the background e.g. are almost an exact copy of a scene from DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE, where Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson are standing at a non-existing phone booth. Seems to me that the director knew quite well what he was doing ...

Don't get me wrong! I really love the clip, but there are far more interesting locations than midtown!
