bbPress 2.0 is a plugin for implementing forum into WordPress website. Its based on the old bbPress standalone web application made to integrate with WordPress. This time, plugin version is part of the WordPress and its using post types and taxonomies to store all data.

Plugin is relatively easy to install and setup, and this video shows the whole process from installing plugin, explaining forums, topics and replies, creation of static pages based on templates, bbPress compatible (and not so compatible) themes and basic info about using xScape themes with bbPress 2.0 plugin.

  • thank you!

  • I'm also confused about registration of users. I thought Wordpress automatically flags people to become a member when they go to private pages. However, my latest version of WP does no such thing

  • Quick question, you covered topics and forums, what about posts? when you created these topics? do they count as posts? cz they don't here with me.

  • Thank you for this video. It was definitely helpful on some of the finer points I hadn't figured out yet.

  • @PoeticLisence62

You have to include the meta widget into your sidebar, for them to login or then register.

I then have a problem with wordpress sending out activation emails. It not do it basically and not clear why not

  • @SirMarjAlot Did you get an answer to this? I'm lost , too. The Forums Login widget has a place to fill in the Register URI and lost password URI but I don't know what to do with that. Anybody?

  • Excellent tutorial. Thank you.

  • thank you very much!!! your video guide helped me a lot!!!

  • Thanks for the video, im a bit confused about register of users, am I expected as admin to set a password for them and then email this password to them.

Also after register there is no feedback ????

  • Also would I be able to block IP addresses as well?
