@amoer3 According to Dilbert, the Nash-equilibrium would be (silence,silence,silence) cause , according to Dilbert, they will be set free at that point (because they don't have enough evidence to convict them) and nobody would want to change their strategy, since getting free is the best possible outcome for all three of them.

I think coordination would only work in situations with multiple equilibria. In a pure prisoner's dilemma you cannot coordinate towards the winning combination because for each individual, the option that leads directly towards that outcome is strictly dominated.
In fact, coordinating towards the winning combination in a prisoner's dilemma would require not pure rationality from each individual but irrational altruism.
Individual ambition doesn't always serve the common good. :P
I don't think Dilbert understands the prisoner's dilemma.
