Thank you for posting...but CALM DOWN. Goats have been having kids for a "few years" now all on their own - they know what to do. Unless there is a problem with the birth, just sit back and enjoy the miracle!

Humans have been having babies for years as well, & we always get super excited when it happens! My goats have been having babies for years now, & I get this excited with every birth. I want to be around for my first time mothers that might end up having a problem, this particular goat's baby had a front leg stuck, though she was able to still push him out, there could've been the need for me to step in & help that little one out of there, so I'm glad I was there, excitement & all!

@LazyBoDaisy I have a lot of experience in assisting cats have kittens. You are absolutely right that, even experienced mothers, sometimes have problems that result in dead or stillborn kittens. My presence and help resulted in some being saved that otherwise would have died. IT IS BETTER TO BE THERE ALL EXCITED AND NOT NEEDED THAN TO NOT BE THERE WHEN NEEDED.

I totally agree...I also raise miniature horses and I am always around when they are due so I can be there if needed...pygmy goats and miniature horses both tend to have birthing problems due to their small sizes, so I believe it is imperative to be there just in case assistance is needed. There has been times where I know I would have lost some babies if I wasn't there to either help them get out or help to get them breathing. How could anyone not be excited watching it?!

I am sorry that your goat might not be pregnant! Hopefully the ultrasound will show different and you'll get some babies after all.

@LazyBoDaisy domesticated animals probably require human assistance during birthing because their ancestors probably received it. that's just how Darwinian Evolution works unfortunately.

Our little pygmy Sassy just gave birth about an hour ago to her first live baby. This was so incredible to watch. Thank you for sharing your babies birth. We weren't able to see Sassy's birth!

I understand your excitement...we've just had 2 of our goats have kids as well. I wasn't trying to be critical, only encourage you to calm down. Besides, there's a little difference between humans and goats. I've had calves from our cows die many times and it wasn't nearly as tragic as when I've delivered human babies and had them die.
