My little slideshow of what led up to my 1st and 2nd Hip Replacement surgeries... you will also see a few pics from the surgeries and the X-Rays of my New Titanium Hips! :) http://www.missrubytuesday.com

Yes- It was scary and it was rough and there are some serious risks involved regarding dislocation and infections- but- all in all- it was worth it!
No- I Can't run... but indeed -I can walk! :) - ANYBODY who needs this surgery should put those fears aside and have it done!

  • Hi, I just got anterior hip replacement (total) for my left hip. My scar is the front of my hip area. Did you get posterior hip replacement?

  • @XiiVoltRon - yep it was posterior... & it was the best thing I ever agreed to do. - congrats on the new hip... love it- spoil it... & do those exercises daily! ;-D

  • Hi i have my both hips done it's been 1year n 5month now I have both at the same time I still can't walk with out the walker I don't have pain in hip but my muscle r too weak frm my nees I still excusess every day some time I get really upset with my self why can't I walk yet I be very happy that I can walk again : (

  • @502raymond your not able to walk yet???? wow- I would think your doctor would be testing the parts... perhaps you need to be doing the physical therapy to build the muscle around the parts... Call your Doctor & inquire why your not able to walk. Best wishes to ya.

  • @akamissrubytuesday hopefully I'll be good to 'bout go Sept.2nd lol,my birthday!!

  • @TheMarcia619 -wow- congrats on being able to do the back to back surgeries! - impressive! - The dancefloor will be awaiting your arrival.... in about 8 weeks. ;-D

  • @akamissrubytuesday Hey how you doing I just wanted to tell you I'm doing good and will be getting my left THR done next week,so hopefully it does as good as my right. Then this mama be back on the dance floor, lol.Take care:)

  • Hi-- I had my right side done in Oct, and the left done in Feb. I am feeling better every day, but like you I love to dance. My therapist kind of bummed me out last week when she told me about the things I should NEVER do again. I have been an equestrian for most of my life and she made it sound like riding horses was much too risky a prospect. How do you deal with these questions? Right now I feel like I'll never be able to even bend over safely!!

  • @gcastroism - thanks for the advice... I've had em over 3 years now & I may not be able to dance as I once did... but- I'm loving the ability to dance... the trick is rebuilding the muscle surrounding the titanium (which as a dancer can be done fairly easily) & to NOT break the "Rotation Limitation" rule. - I do my push-ups & krunces daily plus the my plie's other leg exercises daily too.... as long as I don't fall or do something stupid like try to ride a bike or run or jump-= I'm good. ;-D

  • sweethart, I would not do any dancing unless you want to have many more surgeries. Those implants dont last too long if you push it. Good luck
