I was intersted to see what would happen when I audioswapped an old vid I took down for it having copyrighted music on it.

I have to say, I think that Audioswap needs a lot of work:
- The music browsing interface sucks
- There is no indication of where or who the artists are (almost none are known to me)
- I can't remember the name of the track I clicked. I would really like to give the video a proper credit... I could go and search for it again, but I think it makes sense for YouTube to update the tags or video information to indicate the soundtrack used. Especially if the artists are Indies artists, I'd be happy to support them
- The library is still quite limited

Ultimately, what I really think Google should be doing is focussing on building, on a separate site, some kind of site that allows music labels and Indies artists who are happy to allow their music to be used and promoted on YouTube the chance to share their videos, and to share them by making the tracks downloadable in a way that allows the track to be used in video editing, to allow background and voice sounds.

I think a separate "Google Indies Music" or "YouMuz" site to attract artists, and facilitate browsing, favoriting and downloading of tracks, and an improved interface to that external site from YouTube would be an ideal goal for this feature. Still, it is cool to try it out - I might do a Vlog on this topic soon.

Just tried this again - the audioswap worked - I have no idea what the track was though - YT might want to consider automatically adding info on the track put in, for the sake of the artist. Hmmm, better than before but I'm still not convinced!
