Attempting (AND FAILING) To Ride Saddle Seat!

OK, so maybe it wasn't as bad as the title makes it sound...
But we had a huge spook in the warm-up ring and I fell off and the horse flipped over backwards (my first time ever falling off at a show) so when we went into the class we were still a little tense from the warm-up accident. And also, this horse is normally completely calm and bomb-proof in the ring so all the bucking, rearing, and trying to break into the canter when we were supposed to be walking and trotting was certainly unusual!
And before this I had only shown this horse saddle seat twice. I don't normally ride saddle seat because I don't have a saddle seat horse and I don't like it too much, so I know I am not good at it. (It's fun to watch...but it's just not the right discipline for me) lol!

@shananane I guess it depends on the horse, but my personal opinion is that saddle seat is probably the hardest english equitation flat discipline...the reason being, the saddle is so different and puts you in a weird position, plus the gaits are all so exaggerated. After trying it a few times, I have gained a whole lot of respect for successful saddle seat riders!! :)

@showmanshipstar Haha I started riding saddleseat 3 years ago that was the first time I ever rode and its actually easier if its the first thing you do like i'm guessing you are a jumper? that's probably why its so weird also you were probably used to holding on with your calves where we hold on with our thyes (i don't know how to spell that sorry) but do you think its easier now?

Aww. thanks@ I ride saddle seat professionally, i am home schooled to spend more time riding. I have been in junior nationals several times. Some people say it's abuse because we put pepper paste on their legs and chains and 15 pound shoes but I don't. Thanks so not being mean.
