I think the point of this song is how the TV controls the mind selling everyone fake realities to throw away the relevant issues at hand and make the real reality seem insane and fake which is what I feel about the tv shows, movies, news, ect

The box is his perspective and his learned behavior. He got to a point of self realization and began looking within. He had to begin looking AT the box instead of OUT of it. He realized he was the observer and not the box itself. He found power. He found God. He found Self.

I dont man, but it seems when he uses the term box in my opinion I dont think it's the TV. I think he['s talking about his block ,his neighborhood ,his ambience lifestyle.Reguardless of what is, I'm just glad he's bringing some lyrics and thought back to the game .Old school to new school with twist, is good ish!!!!
