  • Thank you. I don't have the wrappers or kids puking but I do have the spider webs and occasional dead fly. LOL The park has grown even more this year. I added a new double ferris wheel, round-up, scrambler and I'm working on the ring-of-fire. I need a bigger table. lol I ran out of room for the log ride and the wild mouse.

  • Thanks for all the great comments! It's sad that we lost such a unique place but we have to keep the memory alive. At least we are trying to bring back one of the historic boats.

  • You are a genius! This is amazing. I was born in Detroit and then moved to Texas, but we'ld spend our summers in Detroit and every 4th of July we took the boat to the island. Mexican music on Bob-lo boats that day. Thanks for the memories. Are the boats gone for good?

  • Thanks for the great comment. My park isn't the exact layout of the island but it does remind me of it.

The boats are docked in River Rouge. A New York Group purchased the Columbia, which is in really bad shape. There is a group of volunteers that are restoring the Ste. Claire and hope to have her back sailing in the future. If you would like more information or would like to see some pictures please visit bobloboat . com, or myspace . com /cptboblo2.

  • SO great. Thank you. With Astroland closing on Sunday, I've lost Coney Island. Reminded me of when we lost Boblo. Wonderful to see it again, even in miniature.

  • I couldn't believe it when I heard about Astroland closing. I only went there once but it was great! They are closing all the great old parks. Who needs more residential, stip malls, or golf corses!!!! It's a shame.

  • Wow That looks like the real deal! Where did you come up with the matching rides? I know there isnt a build your own boblo kit out there. Nice Job! Brings back good memories!!

  • OMG this was awesome! Especially with it all lit up in the dark! Taking the midnight cruise back... wondering what would happen if you missed that last boat.
