OK, where to start...
1. it's a DRESS bayonet. CEREMONIAL. It's not meant to go on a rifle, and VERY VERY rarely do they FIT a rifle. A K98 bayonet is VERY different.
2. The "stuff" in the bayonet bar slot is FELT (and should be left in there) - original, as it was NOT MEANT TO FIT A RIFLE. Colour of felt determined if you were Heer, Luftwaffe, Kreigsmarine, etc.
3. As to stabbing allied soldiers, it COULD happen, but unlikely as most soldiers did not actually carry these things in the field.

@FabioCrow07770 and stabbing, not slashing
-
bayonets weren't meant to ever be sharp. they were used for digging and crap
-
get a Bren Gun on their flank dude, bren gun - best british machine gun ever

Its a dress bayonet. Never put on a rifle look up your facts first. More than likely pulled off a soldier but it more than likely never stabbed anyone.

looks like it must have broken off the rifle it was on. could have hit something with it which may have done it.
