I was playing around this week with film leaders - recreating them using Macromedia Flash 8 and Inkscape. One of the most interesting ones for me is the BBC film leader shown here. The Nationwide titles that follow it are my homage to "End of Part One". All I need now is Fred Harris doing his best John Stapleton impression...
Many thanks to Rory Clark, without whom there wouldn't be anything on here.
Nice one. From the tape of clips from 'Sounds of the 60s' and other stuff, including the chunk of stuff from the first week of colour on BBC1? I'll have to dig it out and compare it. I'm sure this isn't playing back at 25fps on my laptop, so I'm missing the numbers in the countdown. I get 10, 8, then nothing but triangles and squares until 4 and 3.

@presheaven No, a Real Video file I downloaded from TV Ark many years ago was the source material. It was a bit problematic as it was only 12fps and tiny! I can send you an .mp4 if you are having problems with playback.

@stupidrubbish Yes, you are right, the leader isn't on that tape, only the Nationwide titles.

@presheaven No, the leader is from somewhere else. I tacked it on the front as it was a Nationwide leader from the same era as those titles.

@spikenesmith When asked what they wanted, women all over East Anglia always replied: Norfolk and About with Mike Hunt.
